Omega (1987 computer game)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Omega is a roguelike computer game, programmed by Laurence Brothers in the late 1980s. It was one of the first roguelike games featuring a large countryside and elaborate plot development. It showed great promise, but suffered from a number of flaws. From an implementation perspective, it was quite buggy. From a design perspective, the game was brittle, the early part of the game requiring a somewhat slavish following of a "script" to advance a character through one or more guilds.

Development on Omega continues sporadically as a Sourceforge project, directed by William Tanksley.
