Olwyn Enright

Olwyn Enright (born July 1, 1974) is an Irish Fine Gael politician. She is currently a Teachta Dála (TD) for Laois Offaly and Fine Gael Spokesperson for Education & Science.
Olwyn Enright was born in Birr, County Offaly. She was educated in St, Brendan's Community School, Birr and University College Dublin where she qualified with a Bachelor of Civil Law. Enright served in Offaly County Council between 1999 and 2004. She was first elected to Dáil Éireann for the first time in the 2002 general election, the first female TD to represent the Laois Offaly constituency. Within her first few weeks in the Dáil she was appointed Opposition Spokesperson for Education & Science. Olwyn Enright succeeded in the seat of her father, Tom Enright, a Fine Gael TD and Senator for over thirty years until his retirement in 2002. In July 2005, Enright married the Fine Gael Senator, Joe McHugh.
