Olivos, Buenos Aires

Olivos is a locality of Vicente López in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Olivos is the site of the official compound where the President of the Republic resides during his term when not working at the Casa Rosada (the name of this compound is Quinta Presidencial de Olivos). Olivos is also an exclusive residential neighborhood where primarily upper class families own top real estate parlors located on the shores of the Río de la Plata.
The "Olivos Pact" (Pacto de Olivos) was a political agreement signed on November 1993 between then-president Carlos Menem and former president Raúl Alfonsín (head of the main opposition party), in order to secure support for constitutional reform allowing for the re-election of the President.
