The old fashioned glass is commonly found in bars and pubs, it is not very tall but is a little wider than the Hi-Ball, making it suitable for cocktails that have fewer ingredients. A drink using two or fewer ingredients is traditionally served in an old-fashioned glass. The old-fashioned glass usually has a capacity of 240 to 300 mls.

It is named after the Old Fashioned cocktail, traditionally served in such a glass.

The old-fashioned glass is sometimes known as the rocks glass as it is often used to serve drinks on the rocks (with ice).
