[edit] Origins

"Old Justice" is a half dozen former super-hero "sidekicks" of long ago who have fallen on hard times. Bitter and frustrated that most of their adventures are unremembered, they feel they still have much to contribute in the fight against crime. They also resent Young Justice, seeing in the group a youthful disregard of their heroic predecessors.

According to their promotional brochures, "Old Justice seeks public support for older heroes who risked their lives for the public good. So far, they have met with open ridicule. Such derision could push the group into disaster as they search for respect." (from Young Justice Secret Files)

The membership of Old Justice includes:

Their first strike against Young Justice began when Red Tornado was incarcerated following his "kidnapping" of stepdaughter Traya. Tricked into bringing Traya back after Kathy Sutton awakened from her coma, Red Tornado was taken into custody. Asking for the JLA not to help him, he got a visit from a couple of strangers who asked him to join there team. After turning them down, the strangers left Red Tornado a card with "Old Justice" printed on it.

After Red Tornado was released to help with the demon problem caused by the event known as "Day of Judgment" he went on to help with the demons and eventually return to mentor the group of heroes known as Young Justice.

Later, it was revealed that Red Tornado was released at the urging of Merry, the Gimmick Girl and Old Justice. Hoping to influence Red Tornado to abandon the reckless members of Young Justice, and join a team that would put him back in the public's good favor. After Red Tornado again denied the invitation, Merry decided to start dropping hints of black mail, most effectively, challenging Tornado's paternal rights case for his daughter, Traya.

[edit] Sins of Youth

Old Justice and a news crew showed up at a deserted hotel in the Catskills where Young Justice was in hiding, and demanded that Young Justice turn themselves over to the authorities to answer for defacing Mt. Rushmore. Young Justice didn’t want a fight, but Thorndyke baited them, and the teams clashed. Thorndyke was almost accidentally killed during the fight before Wonder Girl saved him. This made Old Justice rethink their agenda against the youths. They revealed that their backer was Amada Spence, who always kept them updated about Young Justice’s whereabouts so that Old Justice could ambush them at will. Old Justice agreed to attend Young Justice’s "Justice for All" rally in Washington, where the youth’s would plead their case to the public. At the rally a number of superteams attended, and it was interrupted by Klarion, who magically de-aged the JLA and JSA into infancy. Doiby Dickles pulled out an extraterrestrial aging gun to return the heroes to their proper age, but another of Klarion’s spells intercepted his shot. The result was that the members of Young Justice were aged to adulthood, but the other heroes remained children and young teens.

Doiby tried using his new raygun on the JLA, JSA and Young Justice but it had no effect. Since the heroes’ ages were skewed by a combination of magic and science, they would need Klarion’s cooperation to undo the transformation. Old Justice joined the other heroes in attacking the Agenda’s headquarters in Alaska, where Superboy, Superman, Wonder Girl and Wonder Woman were being held hostage. The headquaters was defended by the Junior Injustice Society, but the heroes prevailed, forced the Agenda to flee, and freed the prisoners. They then forced Klarion to team with Doiby and return everyone to their proper age. Old Justice came away from this adventure with a newfound respect for the younger generation of heroes.

This all came to culmination in Young Justice: Sins of Youth #1-2
