The Canadian Bank of Commerce building (or Édifice Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce) at 265 Saint-Jacques Street was built in 1906-1909. The 5 storey building was built by Darling and Pearson with distinctive Corinthian columns in the front.

Prior to this, the site was occupied by L'édifice Temple from 1889 to 1890 and L'église méthodiste St. James or St. James Church from 1845 to 1888.
