[edit] Overview
Though she has long fair hair, her features are given as more (non-specific) Oriental than Slavic, and she has a large red star on her forehead, extending from her brows to her hairline. It's stated that her stories are pornographic, but they aren't commercially so.
A good source of information about Oktobriana is: OCTOBRIANA and the Russian underground by Petr Sadecky. Published by Tom Stacey Ltd, London, in 1971. SBN 58468 0926. He describes the PPP, Progressive Political Pornography, a loose group of cells, not only in Russia, but throughout the Soviet-Union. One of the products was the underground comic of Oktobriana. This group started around 1957, after the Twentieth Congress in 1956. At first they called themselves Progressivnaya Politika (Progressive Politics) and tried to go back to the pure principles of Lenins Communism. Later they put together comics about the superhero Octobriana. One of the stories was: "The living sphinx of the Kamchatka radioactive volcano 1934" in which she swims into a radioactive volcano and kills a giant walrus with her kris. Afterwards she brings the tribesmen of the Koryaks home with a giant flying ball. Another story was titled: "Octobriana and the Atomic Suns of Chairman Mao"
