State Highway 23 (OK-23 or SH-23) is a state highway in Oklahoma. It runs 36.2 miles[1] south-to-north through the center of Beaver County, in the Panhandle, running from the Texas state line to the Kansas state line.
There are no letter-suffixed spur highways branching from OK-23.
[edit] Route description
OK-23 begins at the Texas state line five miles north of Booker, Texas. It travels eight miles due north to the intersection with US 270/US 412/OK-3, at the crossroads settlement of Elmwood.
Proceeding 14 miles north, OK-23 reaches Beaver, the seat of Beaver County. Just north of Beaver, the highway crosses the Beaver River, and in six miles doglegs east at US 64 just east of Forgan, before turning north again, where it ends seven miles later at the Kansas state line.
OK-23 is duplexed with US 270 for 20 miles between US 412 and US 64, and with US for one mile, east of Forgan.
