Oklahoma's 5th congressional district
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Oklahoma's Fifth Congressional District is located in central Oklahoma and borders all of the other congressional districts (except district 1). It is a densely populated district that covers only 3 counties: most of Oklahoma County (the part not included in district 4), Pottawatomie County, and Seminole County.
Principal cities in the district include Oklahoma City (the state capital), Edmond, Shawnee, and Seminole.
As of 2006, the district is represented by outgoing Republican Ernest J. Istook. Republican former Lieutenant Governor of Oklahoma Mary Fallin is the Congresswoman-elect for the district.
