[edit] Official bridge name
Isn't this more properly called the "Okanagan Lake Floating Bridge"? That's how it appears on roadmaps... Not sure where to confirm that. --rakslice 22:37, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
- This bridge is known by several names by the locals, but the official name seems to be Okanagan Lake Bridge:
-
- The William R. Bennett Bridge replaces the current three-lane Okanagan Lake Bridge in Kelowna.[1]
-
- The new toll-free bridge, which will replace the current Okanagan Lake Bridge, will have five lanes, an elevated span to allow for the passage of marine traffic, and improved access for cyclists and pedestrians.[2]
-
- The Okanagan Lake Bridge, located on Highway 97 in Kelowna, is the most congested stretch of highway outside the Lower Mainland.[3]
- Emphasis mine. All 3 quotes taken from official BC government web sites and press releases. I'll rename the article and fix the various links.
