State Route 218 is a north-south state highway in the southeastern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. Its southern terminus is at State Route 217 approximately 6 miles southeast of Crown City, and its northern terminus is at at State Route 7 about 3 miles south of Gallipolis.

- 1924 – Original route established[2]; originally routed along the current alignment of State Route 553 from Crown City to 2 miles north of Crown City, and along its current alignment from 2 miles north of Crown City to its current northern terminus[3].
- 1926 – Southern portion routed to its current alignment along a previously unnumbered road[3].
