At first I thought it was some kind of joke that French Guyana was blue on this map. I guess it's actually still part of France? If that's the reason, shouldn't there be a bunch of blue dots in the Carribean? Or would it be totally wrong to just make French Guyanna grey? It seems so confusing to have such a poor region marked as an OECD member. --Brian Z 12:37, 22 September 2005 (UTC)

Hi there! Thanks for your note and pointing this out. I know; it's a doozy! Most of the dots/pixels in the Carribean are sovereign states, though one – Guadeloupe (from what I can discern, cataract notwithstanding!) – is, similar to French Guiana, a French overseas territory and should be coloured. (Ack!) French Guiana and New Caledonia (out by Australia) are large-enough to be coloured. Take a peek at the French Guiana and European Union articles, which literally and graphically depict French Guiana as part of France. Thoughts? Thanks!
