[edit] Infobox economy
Hi, thanks for fixing that error I made in Template:Infobox Economy, displaying the wrong picture. I saw that you reverted the infobox on the page Economy of the United States to the table at Template:Economy of the United States table, but I think the infobox looks cleaner and is easier to edit in the future. I made it so it properly displays the picture of the dollar bill. I do not want an edit war, so I'm just asking you first, do you think it would be OK for me to put the infobox template back up, or are there other problems with it? I put the correct version to the right. Thanks again for your help, LittleDantalk 18:24, 16 September 2006 (UTC) PS. By the way, if you ever have any problems with Wikipedia, you can just ask me and I'll do my best to help you.
- I am considering changing the style of Template:Infobox Economy to look like Template:Economy of Germany table. Do you think that's a good idea? I'm asking you because you're the only other person who has expressed any interest in the template (even if, of course, it's not terribly interesting to anyone). [edit] Re: "Fire engine" redirects
From WP:REDIRECT#Don't fix links to redirects that aren't broken:
"Some editors are tempted, upon finding links using a legitimate redirect target, to edit the page to "fix" the link so that it points "straight" at the "correct" page. Unless the link displays incorrectly — for instance, if the link is to a misspelling, or other unprintworthy redirects, or if the hint that appears when you hover over the link is misleading — there is no need to edit the link. The link may be deliberate, may consolidate related information in one place, or may indicate possible future articles.
Most especially, there should never be a need to replace [[redirect]] with [[direct|redirect]].
Some editors are under the mistaken impression that fixing such links improves the capacity of the Wikipedia servers. Because editing a page is seemingly thousands of times more expensive for the servers than following a redirect, the opposite is true if anything. It's inadvisable to worry about performance."
Regards,
[edit] Your 'Warning' to me
I think you need to familiarize yourself with the content of WP:OWN and WP:VAND before you go throwing those terms around. Removing content is not the same as vandalising an article. These articles are for use by the general public and not a "stat" book. Most people have no idea what OPS is or Runs Created. As such, I am continuing to edit these articles and if you would like to discuss it further, please do so on the talk page for that article. Tecmobowl 00:21, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
- You can ingnore the above. He is a problem user. See: Tecmobowl (talk • contribs • logs • block user • block log) Cheers, TV Newser Tipline 04:39, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Tecmobowl
It seems to me that this is just a series of edit wars between you and TV Newser, on the one hand, and Tecmobowl, on the other. There is at least one experienced admin in the AFD discussion who strongly disagrees with the AFD nom. You can go to arbitration if you want, but I'm not blocking anybody in this dispute without a lot more investigation (which I don't have time to do right now). NawlinWiki 16:36, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Tecmobowl (edit conflict)
If several people are having a problem with Tecmobowl shouldn't his behavior be looked into? He has been removing things from articles that maybe shouldn't have been and is ignoring and deleting warnings. If I read the Wikipedia policies correctly this sort of behavior is vandalism and needs to be dealt with. OBILI ® ± 16:23, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- I have briefly looked into it and have even made some constructive suggestions. He's made some faux pas' but seems to spend most of his time fending off attacks. Give me some diffs or show me where you've posted diffs and maybe I'll change my mind but, so far, it's just looking like a witch hunt. —Wknight94 (talk) 16:38, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Please stop bothering me. Do not place vandalism warnings on my talk page, do not try and delete the The American Card Catalog article, and do not revert edits I do simply for the sake of reverting. If you do any of the following, I will undo what you have done. If you would like to the ACC topic and your rational, please do so on the Talk page for the article. If you do not adhere to these requests, I will report this to admins and also request mediation.Tecmobowl 20:43, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
