O Estado de S. Paulo (lit. The State of São Paulo) is a Brazilian newspaper published in São Paulo. It is also nicknamed Estadão.

The newspaper was founded on January 4, 1875 by 16 people joined together by Manuel Ferraz de Campos Sales and Américo Brasiliense. The objective was the creation of a Republican diary against the Monarchy and Slavery. The idea surged during a Republican Convention in Itu. At that the time the newspaper name was "A Província de São Paulo" (The Province of São Paulo).

The newspaper changed the former name to the present name "O Estado de S. Paulo" on December 31, 1889. Also called Estadão, that means "Big State", the newspaper has been managed by the Mesquita family.
