O Descobrimento do Brasil is the seventh album by Brazilian rock band Legião Urbana, recorded between September and November of 1993 and released on the Emi-Odeon label on November, 1993. The album presents another stylistic change, in which the long song format is abandoned, in favour of shorter, more radio friendly songs. Also, the arrangements are more rich and detailed, with more guitars - as well as uses of exotic instruments like the Dobro and the Sitar - and less keyboards, in contrast to the sparse, chilly keyboard atmosphere of V. In spite of that, the album scored relatively few hits, in comparison to their 80's releases. However, the album includes one of Russo's personal favourites, "Giz".
