O'Shipka is underground live music club in Sofia, Bulgaria. O’Shipka is one of the clubs for original, live, rock or experimental music. It has a somewhat cult status in Sofia.
After the opening of the first club, which is also a restaurant upstairs during daytime and evening, several other restaurants O'Shipka were opened across Sofia. The name originates from Boulevard Shipka, the street where the original club is located. The street's name in turn comes from the mountain passage where[1] Bulgarians fought the advancing Turkish army to stop them from crossing on the other side of the mountain and gain strategic advantage.
