Talk:NZB

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

NZB is a file format. Maybe it would make more sense to rename this article to .NZB? Djames 16:57, 5 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Or create a redirect?

Category? Shouldnt it be in the file format category?

I dont know how much of a file format NZBs actually are. Aren't they just XML files named NZBs to promote the site that created them? --Triedandtested 22:46, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] list of clients with NZB support

needs to be expanded; it doesn't even have the most common/popular ones --67.168.0.155 06:14, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

NZB is not a protocol. Just a file format in plain text using xml-based tags. NZB contains the list of newsgroups where the realease was posted, poster's name, subject and file list, and, for every file posted, a list of its segments and the size and message id of each segment.

I partially rewrote the article to try and explain better what an NZB files actually is, ie not a protocol.--Triedandtested 22:30, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Controversy

The semi-recent controveries could be listed regarding NZB sites. For example the MPAA filing papers against various nzb sites such as nzbzone.com and them latter closing down as a result. You could link to the MPAA press release as a source. I might do it myself if noone else has a go. --Triedandtested 22:30, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
