Nyewood Lane

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nyewood Lane is a football ground that is home to Bognor Regis Town F.C.. The ground painted in the club's green colours is arguably one of the best grounds in non-league football. Nyewood lane boasts one of the best playing surfaces in the county, which is maintained by groundsman, Eddie Broadbent [1]. The ground is also equipped with floodlights, which were brought from Wembley Stadium and fitted onto telegraph poles[citation needed].

The ground can seat over 150 spectators and can accommodate over 500 more standing spectators. Adjacent to the pitch is a club house where fans can sit inside and watch the match.

[edit] New stand

Bognor Regis Town F.C. have received planning permission to build a 500 seat stand. Along with the stand they hope to build business, education, heath and community facilities. This permission provides opportunities for the club to obtain long term sustainable income to fuel its ambition to play at an even higher level, while contributing to the economic and social regeneration of disadvantaged communities in and around Bognor Regis. The host of facilities will be able to cater for the young and old

The two-story high building will cost in the region of £400,000. The club is likely to receive a grant from the Football Federation for about £150,000.
