[edit] Requested Move - 3/28/2006
I propose changing the name of this page to "UGS NX", to reflect the new name of the company. This seems to be an accepted standard (company name followed by product name; i.e. "Autodesk Inventor", or "Adobe Acrobat"). Similarly, I propose renaming "Teamcenter" to "UGS Teamcenter".
I also propose that "Unigraphics" should go to a disambiguation page with links to "UGS NX" (the product) and "UGS Corporation" (the company).
What to do with packages like JT and Parasolid is a tougher question. Should "JT" always be referred to as "UGS JT"? I would lean towards yes.
Comments? Objections?

I do not agree. I think the product names and the company names should be kept separate. With the constant mergers and renaming that goes on in this industry it does not make sence. Will you also rename Catia page to Dassault Catia and AutoCAD page to Autdesk AutoCAD ..... Unigraphics is the more commonly used/known name of this package in the engineering industry. Also NX is used for other products such as NX Nastran. Freeformer

Good points. Let me answer your question with a question. Would you rename "Autodesk Inventor" to just "Inventor"? Adobe Acrobat to just "Acrobat"?
I think the central question is do you want to have a standard and follow it. Freeformer, it sounds like you are saying that you would handle each product on a case-by-case basis and for more well-known ones you would skip the company name in the title (presumably becuase it's known anyway).
I would lean more towards trying to follow a "company-product" convention, especially for the sake of people that might not be familiar with the products and the companies that make them. You can always create redirects and disambig pages for the product names themselves, if you want to save typing.
