NWA World Welterweight Championship

The NWA World Welterweight Championship is a professional wrestling championship governed by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. The title has also been used by New Japan Pro Wrestling, and was part of its J-Crown Championship. As with the NWA World Light Heavyweight and World Middleweight Championships, it is not recognized by the current National Wrestling Alliance. The title was the first true NWA Alliance World Championship to be based in Mexico (the middleweight title had been acquired from the National Wrestling Association in 1939).
