Nutuk (Söylev) was the speech delivered by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in 1927 . It took thirty six hours to be read by Ataturk . The speech was about the Turkish War of Independence which was started in 19 May 1919 and the foundation of the Republic in Turkey , in 1923 . It is an important source for the study of Kemalism .
