[edit] Plots
[edit] Nursery Crimes
Billy eats 19 Atomic Frenzy Cakes at 3:00am and can't sleep, and wakes Mandy to tell him a story. Angry Mandy tells him an awful story, without a happy ending, so Billy makes up his own story. But since his story about happy villagers in the Middle of Nowhere and Chuck the Tree Wizard was pointless, Grim uses a magic storybook to tell his story. He turns Billy and Mandy into Hansel and Gretel, and sends them into Fairy Tale Land. Worst of all, Billy has been captured by "Pinnochiochiochiochiochiochiochiochio" who wants to eat his flesh and thus become a real boy!
[edit] My Peeps
Billy ruins his eyes by staring at the sun for too long, trying to set a record, and ends up needing laser eye surgery. Unfortunately, he doesn't want it, so Grim tries to fix Billy's eyes himself. At first, it seems that everything is normal, but soon Billy realizes that he can see into the future. He has awful visions of other peoples futures, and he goes crazy with confusion and desperation. Grim and Mandy attempt to fix his eyes - against his will - but things don't go as planned. (e.g. being seen as Japanese-speaking anime versions of themselves.
[edit] Billy's Visions
- Irwins rides his bike in to a pole and gets severely injured.
- Pud'n gets stomped on by an elephant while on a trip to the zoo.
- Mandy's head is on a table like a doily (although this was because she was playing a table in a school play).
[edit] Cultural References
- "Dugeons and Dinobonoids" is a spoof of Dungeons and Dragons.
- My Peeps is a parody of a well known Twilight Zone episode, "A Most Unusual Camera", in which a camera can develop pictures five minutes into the future, sometimes revealing the grim fate of the photo's occupants. It may also be a parody of The Dead Zone.
- The sound Billy's videogame sounds like the UNO handheld videogame.
- The times when Grim tries to fix Billy's eyes (after he gains the ability to gaze into the future) lead to some interesting results. The first time, Billy sees the world as a kind of Ralph Steadman or Jhonen Vasquez illustration, then an anime (indicated by Mandy speaking in Japanese), then a young children's cartoon.
[edit] Goofs
- When Mandy saw Billy crossing the street while the traffic light says "Don't Walk", she had eyelashes.
- The story that Mandy tells is "Once upon a time... the end."
- The princess on the dragon in Billy's videogame resembles Eris
- When Grim and Mandy are speaking Japanese in one of his newly-acquired eyesights, Billy says he cannot understand what they're saying.
[edit] Miscellanea
- Mary Jo Catlett is the voice of Mrs. Puff in SpongeBob SquarePants, and Tom Kenny is the voice of Spongebob himself.
