Nurse (Silent Hill)

The Nurses are fictional monsters in the Konami's survival horror video game Silent Hill. They have appeared so far in Silent Hill to Silent Hill 3. They are found primarily in Alchemilla Hospital in Silent Hill 1, and Brookhaven Hospital in Silent Hill 2 and 3.

[edit] Silent Hill
In the first Silent Hill they are called the Puppet Nurse, wearing old fashioned nurse attire and attack using a scalpel. They also are controlled by a parasite, giving them a humpbacked appearance. They come from Alessa's fear of Hospitals and nurses.
[edit] Silent Hill 2
In Silent Hill 2 they are called the Bubble Head Nurse. The nurses wear suggestive, low-cut outfits and have heavily distorted and grotesquely swollen faces, that jitter and twitch uncontrollably. The nurses are quicker on their feet than most of the other monsters and wield deadly lead pipes that can do heavy damage. They represent Mary's hospitalization, and their grotesque, sexualized forms express James' sexual frustrations.

This time around, the nurses look more "human", although their faces are still hidden, through heavy amounts of badly applied make-up. As well as the standard steel pipe they all use to attack with, some also carry revolvers. They make panting sounds when alive, strange squishing sounds every time they walk, and make realistic screaming sounds when hurt. On their faces, it appears they have either vomited up blood or have been feeding on a bloody carcass, as blood is spattered all around their mouths. If the perfume is equipped, supposedly, they attack in greater numbers. Their skin is nearly white.
[edit] Silent Hill 4: The Room
Although they do not appear in this game, in the Hospital World there are creatures called the Patient. They resemble the nurses of the past games in their looks and fighting style. Extremely tall, feminine monsters that resemble maternity patients. They usually carry powerful melee weapons, just like the nurses in the previous games. They used to be normal corpses, but Walter excessively disfigured their faces and removed their wombs and their lungs. They make strange belching noises when hit.

The Nurses appear briefly in the film, near the ending. They are provocatively dressed and have distorted faces, resembling the nurses from Silent Hill 2 they also represent Lisa's fear for Alessa.
Rose Da Silva finds them when advancing to encounter Alessa, but they only move when she turns her lamp on. Rose tries to sneak between them, but she is detected. One of them uses a knife, only to hurt another nurse, beginning a massacre. Rose uses this to escape and go through them.
