[edit] The Great Escape
The Fanfic starts with President Jimmy and Anna stuck in a cell in the Kids Next Door Arctic Prison. Jimmy is bored to death, and complains as such, but Anna is calm. She reveals to Jimmy that she stole a KND B.L.A.S.T.E.R. (Big Laser Attacks Stupid Teenage Enemy Riffraff) from a pile over near where Numbuh 60 is resting. She fires at the wall, destroying it, and Jimmy (in a very Han Solo-like way) tells Anna that he loves her, and Anna (imitating Princess Leia) says she knows he does.
[edit] A Nega-Portal to Nowhere
The two escape the Arctic Prison together. It doesn't take long for Numbuh 60 to notice and he, along with some other Arctic Base operatives, chases after the fugitives. When the same dark portal that absorbed Lillian Green (in Operation: NERDS OF A FEATHER) appears, the same vacuum-like suction starts up and takes Jimmy and Anna with it. The two appear in the negative world, with Anna landing on top of a fallen Jimmy. When Jimmy commands her to get off him, his eyes glow yellowish green, as do Anna's, and she repeats the phrase while she obeys the command. Jimmy realizes that he has mind control powers, and rejoices at this fact.

As it just so happens, Numbuh 1 and his team are at the DNK's Moonbase, watching as the new Supreme Leader of the DNK, Negative Numbuh 262, commissions some new CDNK (Cadets for Destructive and Needless Karnage) into the DNK Organization. Among the spectators are Negative 60 and Negative 260, the DNK's resident technician. At that moment, however, the DNK and Sector V get a call from Negative 3.56 (Numbuh 65.3's counterpart) telling them that some intruders have entered the negative world and are wandering around the DNK's Treehouse, which angers Negative Numbuh One and his team.
[edit] The Negative Universe's Most Unwanted
The main DNK team, along with Numbuhs 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, all leap into the DNK's M.O.M.S.T.E.R. (Massively Overlarge Machine Stops Totally Every Runaway), while the other operatives hop into other vehicles. Back at the DNK Treehouse, Anna and Jimmy are relaxing in the Treehouse. While Jimmy is searching through the TV Guide to find something good to watch on TV (e.g. "Negative World News", "The Hopes and the Hopeless", etc.), Anna wonders what powers she has. Jimmy swipes her box of doughnuts. Anna, very angry, orders him to give them back, and her eyes glow a similar yellowish-green color as she exerts her power: control over inanimate objects. The doughnut box "comes to life" and walks to her, and she takes a doughnut and eats it, savoring both the delicious taste and her slight victory over Jimmy, who is very steamed. Before he can start ranting, however, the M.O.M.S.T.E.R. lands and the DNK and KND all scramble out. Jimmy tells Anna to do something, as his power only works over people. Though Anna suggests he hypnotize a couple few operatives, she nonetheless brings some kitchen utensils (forks, knives, etc.) to life and sends them flying at the enemy operatives, who have to duck or be besieged by the soaring silverware.
[edit] Delightfully Delighted to Make Your Acquaintance
Meanwhile in the positive universe, the Delightful Children from Down the Lane are being chased by KND operatives. One of the operatives shouts for the Delightfuls to stop, but they question why they would be dumb enough to do that. When the portal opens up before them, the Delightfuls make a flying leap, just managing to make it through in time. Melissa (the round girl) grabs the blonde boy's (Simon's) hand and pulls him through the portal. The DCFDTL land in a trailer park in the negative universe. One of the trailers belongs to the Little Traitor Dudes for Children's Defense. The LTDFCD recognize their counterparts from their first encounter in the virtual reality game (from the first fanfic, Mission: Virtually Impossible). The Delightfuls wield their newfound power, which in their case are firepowers very similar to Father's. However, before they can do any harm to the Traitor Dudes or their trailer, the LTDFCD activate the "surfboard guardians" (living surfboards that protect the Trailer in the same manner that the Knightamatons protect the Delightfuls' mansion) which pummel the DCFDTL before flipping them into the air and out of sight. A flash in the distance indicates the Delightfuls being sucked back into the portal that brough them there, called the Nega-Portal.
[edit] Good-bye and Good Riddens
Back at the DNK Treehouse, the DNK operatives from Moonbase are busy fighting each other thanks to Jimmy's mind control, and the only sane operatives are the Sector V team and their counterparts. Numbuh One and Negative Numbuh One rally their respective teams to attack, which they do. The DNK activate their invisibility armor which they call "M.I.S.T.A.R.O.U.S." (Mechanical Invisibility Screen Turns All Rogue Operatives Unseen Superbly), a play on the word "mysterious". Negative Numbuh 5 lures Jimmy and Anna (the latter of whom has two S.P.L.A.T.T.L.E. weapons serving as bodyguards) to the roof of the treehouse, where the DNK have a catapult set up (originally used to shoot kids into the air as a form of torture). Negative 5 pushes Anna onto the catapult, and since Jimmy is behind her, she hits him and they both fall on it. When the Nega-Portal, which Negative 262 explains as being a portal that "takes those whose hearts are tainted and subjects them to massive amounts of energy", appears in midair, Negative Numbuh 2 activates the catapult and sends the Fourth Grade President-for-life and his assistant hurtling through the air and into the Nega-Portal. The other DNK operatives, freed of Jimmy's control, rejoice; the KND give their negative counterparts a high-five, though Numbuh 4 does do the "up-high, down-high, to-the-side, too-slow" prank on Negative 86, who laughs it off nonetheless. When he tries to do it to Eizzil, she slaps him. The other operatives burst out laughing.

In this Fanfic, the source of the Nega-Portal's power (as seen in Operations NERDS OF A FEATHER, NEGA-PORTAL, and R.E.V.E.N.G.E.) is revealed to be the Ultimate Horror.
Since the first Fanfic of the 3rd Series is a sequel to this Fanfic, the 3rd Series is considered an extension of the 2nd Series.

[edit] The World's Best DNK Operative
The Fanfic begins in a flashback, with Negative 262's voice narrating. A DNK operative named Omega is driving across the Training Fields behind Negative Numbuh 1's house. However, it is revealed that, in this flashback, the present-day DNK do not exist yet, and thus the house belongs to Omega.
[edit] Hero Worship
Omega leaps off his N.E.G.A.-T.A.N.K. to find another operative watching him intently. Omega snaps at the younger operative, wanting to know who he is. The operative, in a piping voice, says that "[his] name is Negative 18, if you please, sir". Omega asks Negative 18 why he came all this way to the Nega-Treehouse when he obviously came from DNK Moonbase. Negative 18 says he worships Omega as a hero and wishes to be like him, although Omega scoffs and says Negative 18 would have to "jump a building, crash someone's birthday party, and storm the Traitor Dudes' trailer before [he] could be like [Omega]". Negative 18 looks very sad, but Omega orders the would-be DNK operative out of his sight, wondering why anyone would ever let a pipsqueak like that into the DNK.
[edit] Darking Attacks!
The next day, Omega receives word from Negative Numbuh 400 that Negative 18, whom Negative 400 was going to send on a covert mission, has disappeared. Reliable sources from the DNK Arctic Base say that he is somewhere in the Ice Canyon, wandering around muttering to himself; the Arctic Base operatives claim him to be crazy. Omega realizes what he did, and plans to head off to Ice Canyon to apologize. However, before he can put this plan into action, a dark figure with black robes appears. The figure calls himself "Darking", a combination of the words "Dark" and "King" (since the first word starts with the same letter the second word ends with, Darking says that he just combined the two to make the name shorter and more menacing). Darking says he came to steal the power known as the "Ultimate Horror"!
[edit] Battling Darking
Omega whips out his K.O.O.L.E.R. weapon and fires icy mist at Darking. The wizard-fiend "dissolves" and "resolves" elsewhere to avoid the attack, boasting that he cannot be hurt. He fires his wrist gun, which electrifies Omega, sending the legendary operative to his knees. Darking hovers towards where the Nega-Portal appears, and raises his arms to summon The Ultimate Horror!

Much to Darking's, and Omega's, surprise, the Nega-Portal responds by releasing a thick black energy tendril. The tendril wraps itself several times around Darking's body, until he is imprisoned in what roughly resembles a time-space bubble. Omega climbs to his feet, and heads off to the N.E.G.A.-T.A.N.K. so he can find Negative 18.
[edit] And That's The Way It Went
It is at this point that the fanfic is revealed to be a story that Negative Numbuh 262 is telling the Sector V team. Each operative relates their opinion: Numbuh 2 thought the N.E.G.A.-T.A.N.K. idea was cool, Numbuh 3 says Omega should have given Negative 18 a chance, and Numbuh 4 thought the Darking fight was cool especially the plot twist at the end. Negative 262 asks Numbuhs 1 and 5 for their opinion, but Numbuh 1 seems to be thinking intently about something. Numbuh 5 says the story was cool, but she agrees with Three about how Omega should have treated Negative 18.

[edit] Rescue Mission
At the Ice Canyon, Negative Numbuh One and his team lead a mission to find Negative Numbuh 18. Numbuh One and the rest of his team are not far behind, riding on their S.K.E.E.B.I.K.E.'s. Negative Numbuh 86 notices that they are approaching a dark shadow at rapid speed, and the two teams swerve to avoid it. Unfortunately, the DNK's M.O.T.O.R.'s skid on the ice and cause the DNK to fall off them. The KND speed on ahead without noticing that they left their companions behind.
[edit] Omega Returns!
The dark shadow approaches the fallen DNK, and Eizzil pleads with it to leave them alone. However, the figure steps into the light and we see that it is Omega! Eizzil is so relieved she almost faints, but she is caught by Negative Numbuh 86. Omega thinks that the DNK were looking for him, and he admits to looking a bit tired . . . . when, in fact, he looks more than a bit tired. There are black marks above his eyes indicating an incredible lack of sleep. When Negative 2 points this out, Omega shrugs it off, saying they need to find Negative 18 before he does. Negative Numbuh 3 immediately thinks of Negative Numbuh 4, but Omega says he meant Darking.
[edit] Negative Numbuh 18 Found
Meanwhile, the KND run across one of the meaner inhabitants of the Ice Canyon: an Icicle Beast, which resembles a polar bear made of ice. The Beast roars as it flings icicles at them. As Numbuh 3 dives to the side, she sees a familiar figure hanging limply from an icicle like a coat from a coat rack. It is Negative Numbuh 18! However, the KND still have that Icicle Beast to deal with. Numbuh 3 whips out a T.A.N.G.L.E.R. she brought along for the rescue mission and flings a heavy-duty net at the Beast, tying it up for the time-being. Numbuh 2 runs over to free Negative 18, who wakes up with a moan. Numbuh 5 grabs his arm and tugs him out of the cave.
[edit] Apology Not Accepted
Back on their SKEEBIKE's, the KND search for the Destructively Nefarious Kids, while Numbuh 5 catches Negative 18 up on what's happened in the world since he got lost. Negative 18 scoffs at Negative 4's name, proving that even he didn't like Numbuh 4's evil counterpart. Suddenly, there is a beam from overhead. The beam carries the KND and Negative 18 into the DNK B.L.A.C.K. (Big Limosuine is Absolutely Crazy Killer), the DNK equivalent to the KND's E.L.I.M.O.N.A.T.E.R. Negative 262 is overjoyed to see Negative 18 again, and pats the operative on the shoulder. Also riding in the B.L.A.C.K. are Negative Numbuhs 1, 2, 3, 5, and 86, along with Eizzil and Omega. Negative Numbuh 18 folds his arms and turns from Omega when the two operatives' eyes meet. Omega tries to apologize for his behavior earlier (though 'earlier' is really 100 years ago), but Negative 18 won't listen, saying he hates Omega and always will.

[edit] Darking Before Dawn
The DNK bring the KND and Negative 18 to their equivalent to the KND's Arctic Base, which looks just as impressive. Negative Numbuh 60 approaches them, and the bags under his eyes prove that Omega isn't the only one not getting enough sleep. Suddenly, the sky turns dark, and red tendrils of energy lash out from what is easily recgonizable as the Nega-Portal. Darking emerges from the horrifying display, free of the space-time shield that had imprisoned him 100 years ago. Darking says that he will have the Ultimate Horror this time, and no one will get in his way!!
[edit] Lord Darking Your Master and Ruler
Darking rises up, and fires his energy bands (which have vanished from the Nega-Portal back into him) at the sky. In response, the Nega-Portal grows bigger, and releases a powerful vortex that threatens to destroy everything it touches. However, Darking gets sucked in first, and turns into "Lord Darking", a more powerful version of himself (just as Ultimor became Pen-Ultimor in Operation: PENULTIMATE). Lord Darking swoops down and sends out long reddish octopus tentacles to seize Negative 18, who screams for "someone, anyone [to] please rescue me!" The DNK oblige, but their M.O.R.T.A.R.'s have no effect on the heavily-armored Lord Darking. Negative Numbuh Omega asks for the location of his N.E.G.A.-T.A.N.K., only to be told by one of the Negative Numbuh 44 twins that his N.E.G.A.-T.A.N.K. was disposed of years ago.
[edit] Omega Wins the Day
Omega whips out his trusty K.O.O.L.E.R. weapon and fires it. We discover that Lord Darking's armor is not cold-proof and the ice surrounding his body soon shatters his armor. Lord Darking falls to the ground, transforming back into normal Darking as he lands amid Negative Numbuhs 1, 2, 3, 5, 86, 18, 262, and 44. Omega folds his arms angrily and Eizzil punches one of her fists into her hand. Darking tells the team it's not over, and summons the Nega-Portal as he prepares to vanish. However, Negative Numbuh 18 seizes Negative 86's M.O.R.T.A.R. and fires at Darking, sending him falling, screaming, into the Nega-Portal. Negative 18 brushes dust from his hands, and Omega says that he's proud of Negative 18. Negative 18 asks if they can train together now, and Omega says of course they can, prompting a grin from Negative 18.
