Number of the Day
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Number of the Day is a segment on Sesame Street when Count von Count introduces the number of the day in 2002. The number of the day can be anywhere from zero to twenty, inclusive.
The Count usually plays his pipe organ, with each pipe singing out a number in order starting at one. When he reaches the number of the day, balloons and confetti appear and the number appears. (on the occasions, if the number of the day is zero, the organ disappears in a puff of smoke.)
Occasionally the number of the day is revealed at a restaurant, with the Count and his girlfriend Countess Dahling von Dahling present. The Count sings a song, asking whether the number of the day will be one, two, etc. When he reaches the number of the day, the Countess will shout "Stop!"
