Numan Gumaa

Numan Gumaa (Arabic:نعمان جمعة) (born 1937) , works as an attorney in Cairo and is the former chairman of the liberal New Wafd Party, founded in 1919 and Egypt's oldest political party. He was nominated in 2005 for presidential election and came in third place. He was arrested in April 2006 for shootings in the Wafd Party.

He was removed from his office after a massive faliure in the first Egyptian election that took place in September 2005. As a candidate, only 2 % voted for him.
