Nubra Valley
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nubra Valley is situated about 150 km from Leh, the capital town of Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, India. To reach the village of Hundar, the last civilian outpost of Nubra Valley, one has to cross the Khardung La Pass which at 18,380 ft (5,602 m) is the world's highest motorable pass. Hundar is one of those rare places on earth where you can see in one place the splendid beauty of a desert with bactrian camels (two-humped) only to be found at Hundar, sand dunes, rolling mountains (Zanskar range) and snow peaks.
