[edit] My last edit

I removed information I thought was irrelevant and appealling only to the people who would have already known it. I hope that's considered ok, isn't that known as "fancraft" or something here? (I don't edit that often)

thanks

[edit] Tweel

Your Tweel article was very informative... but what a stub. Shutranm 00:59, 5 Jan 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Let's trim our hair - response to thanks

No problem. I tried to expand it a bit, too, but I don't know if I did much good. The BBC and Guardian articles indicated that there were two different series, and the second was the one that had the bad examples, so I tried to clarify that. Everyking 01:50, 8 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Good job

Let's trim our hair in accordance with the socialist lifestyle is probably my favorite article in the Wikipedia; good job there, man. :D --Sn0wflake 02:35, 13 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Signatures with superscripts.

Hi. If I understand your question right, here's how you do it. Click on "preferences" and find the box that says "Your nickname (for signatures):". Then paste Nrbelex (talk) (Fun) into the box, and make sure the "raw signatures" checkbox is checked. Then click the "save preferences" button, and that should work. Thanks for all the work you're doing on sleuthing, by the way! Best regards, – Quadell (talk) (sleuth)

I hereby award Nrbelex this Barnstar of diligence for his work in image sleuthing.

For all your sleuthery, this barnstar is for you. Great work! – Quadell (talk) (sleuth) 00:51, Mar 10, 2005 (UTC)

Thank you soooo much! Glad I could help! :-D Nrbelex (talk) (sleuth) 00:59, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Template:Imagetools

Not the people who do image uploading :) I've decided to be bold and start the thing. Unfortunately there are about 500 US-PD-style tags, so it could take some time to develop. Any suggestions, let me know (or use Template talk:Imagetools). Alphax τεχ 11:07, 5 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Vote on Image:Autofellatio 2.jpg

As you may or may not be aware, Image:Autofellatio 2.jpg is up for deletion. I'm never one to electioneer, and I deplore the necessity of contacting you, but Achilles has contacted all the "delete" voters from the previous autofellatio image debate; and since that has already been done, I didn't think fairness would be served if the "keep" voters were not also contacted. I have attempted to contact only those people who have not voted in the current debate, but the information was hard to sift through by hand and I may have made a mistake. If I have, I apologize. Cheers to you! Demi T/C 19:29, 2005 Apr 7 (UTC)

[edit] Camp Hero

This may be fun for you, but it isn't for me. I referred a researcher friend of mine to that page, and now everyone I know is making jokes about my not being able to put a sentence together properly.

If you have issues with the grammar, either state what they are, fix it or delete the dammed page and write one yourself. When I contributed the research I didn't expect to be paid, but I didn't expect to be humiliated, either. --Outlander 00:02, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I have no problem with people editing, that goes with the game. I've edited lots of other people's stuff, too - sometimes it's easier to see someone else's errors. It's the part about leaving a sign that says "this page is poorly written" and nothing more that bothers me. It leaves me with nothing to do about the problem except sit there and look like an idiot.

You could have just posted a note on the talk page thay says "tense shifts around 1978 reference" so I (or someone else) could fix the problem and remove the grammar tag. --Outlander 13:40, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Can you explain the creation of this image? Burgundavia (✈ take a flight?) 14:51, May 28, 2005 (UTC)

 • If an image is up for deletion due to copyright issues, please don't create a derivative of it. That just causes more work for me, as I know have to delete it as well. Burgundavia (✈ take a flight?) 08:26, May 29, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Scarsdale Concours

I have selected MANY of the photos you gave permission to upload and will busily and happily upload them and integrate them into articles. These are a wonderful bounty and I heartily thank you for allowing Wikipedia to use them, and me to see them!--SFoskett 17:10, Jun 23, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the Barnstar - I added it to my user page 'cause I'm so pleased! I knew most of the cars offhand, but looked up the years/trim/versions on Google to make sure. I kept saying "ooh, move the camera left and get that one!" *grin* Thanks again. --SFoskett June 28, 2005 13:15 (UTC)

Updated DYK query Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article Cetacean Intelligence Mission, which you recently created, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. You commented on Image:AnnapolisGraduation.jpg that "Someone should nominate this as a featured picture - I'm a little confused by the directions to do so... and a little lazy" on July 31. Warmest regards --Neutralitytalk 02:53, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image sleuthing

I created Wikipedia:Image sleuthing way back in January 2003. Back then, images without a source tended to stick around for ages on Wikipedia's servers. (If an image was known to be a copyright violation, it would be deleted, but if no one was sure, it just sat around.) Image Sleuthing was my way of trying to unclog the backlog. Nowadays, if an image doesn't have a known source, it's supposed to be deleted within 7 days. So I don't think the project is relevant anymore. Thanks for your interest, – Quadell (talk) (bounties) 13:32, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Acme motor.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Acme motor.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use GFDL to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Longhair 00:26, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tag Deletion

Because there is no such thing as PD-NYGov, it's just a redirect to no license. All I did was substitute that template. --MarkSweep (call me collect) 01:17, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

No, that tag/template won't be back. At best, the template had a misleading name, since works of the NY state government are not generally in the public domain. For example, the NYS Parks website that you took this picture from carries a prominent copyright notice ("© 2006 New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. All rights reserved."). Using the image under a "fair use" rationale is a bit dubious. We might be in a position to make such a claim if the image was somehow special, e.g. of a historical nature with no free substitute available. But for a rather ordinary landscape photo, it should be easy to find or create a free replacement. --MarkSweep (call me collect) 22:54, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Rockies.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Rockies.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Matt Stevens is Quite a Robust Gentleman

I think I may have found the wrong Matt Stevens to Edit. The Edits, however, were not vandalism, just a mistake.

[edit] Matt Stevens is Still a Rather Robust Gentleman

What do you mean "not Appropriate" What of my talk page. You are wrongfully constructing me as a vandal, simply becuase so many other users of My IP address are. Quit repressing me, please. If You are going to accuse me, gimme some real proof on how my edits are so bad.

[edit] Matt Stevens Desperately needs to go on a Diet

You still haven't told me exactly how the edit is so bad. And what's all this business about not being allowed to use the word supposedly?

[edit] You can't deny it, Matt Stevens is still a plus size man

So, you don't have an answer to my questions. I thought so. My edits were perfectly true, and you are just abusing your power as an admin or whatever you are. So THIS IS YOUR LAST WARNING. QUIT VANDALISING MY CONTRIBUTIONS, OR I WILL BLOCK YOU.

[edit] Kwon Sang-Woo's real surname is Kwone.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v377/tccn/KwoneSangWoo.jpg

read this, it's his real passport though he has to renew this yr 3 may

I am a fan of KSW, I know more than your info has.

he really has a girl in 1998 surname Li.

his father die when he is 8 is not fake.

I am his asian fan , i have more details of kwone than your wikipedia had.

i don't know why adding correct details is being called spamming?

if your pedia has, do I have to add mine?

your page is opened for people to change what they got from kwone sang woo, but you all just change back from your own fav. words. then why ask ppl to change?

why not just close your own door and change all your own...?

I don't like your staff's way of treating changes. you don't know, doesnt mean nobody knows kwone's other details that your page doesn't have.

please open all your brain, and heart to receive others' real details.

don't just think, because you are the admin, so your details (only your detials) are correct. you should receive details from asian KSW fans too, or else, why ask ppl to send new details to help you to change celeb details? just close your door, if you think nobody send correct detials.

USA people know ver yfew from Kwone. this is true, but asians knows more.

if I were you I would keep the people's new add info. because nobody is perfect.

if you think, all other amendments are wrong, then why open to receive?

sorry but your site's close-minded behavior, really makes me to laugh out loud.

[edit] Vermont towns

Hi - thanks for finding vandalism on the Lincoln, Vermont page. Users at the WikiProjectVermont have been having a lot of trouble with the "notable residents" sections of many Vermont towns, including Bristol, Vermont, Benson, Vermont, Colchester, Vermont and Winooski, Vermont. I don't know if you have a Vandalproof "watchlist" per se, but it would be great if someone else could look in on these. Thanks again. H0n0r 11:02, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] vandalism

YOu just gave some anon AOL IP a Last Warning. He just vandalized my page. Please block him or whatever. -- Chris Ccool2ax contrib. 18:52, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] you wiki staff should be lenient, accept the provided changes.

don't know why you always keep saying people uncontributed.

you are not expert of everything. just make a wikipedia. but the details are not enough.

then people send their known things, then you say, because no facts supported, so we won't accept any

Your ways is just telling people that, you only think that you are the correct ones.

if so, then why not just shut your doors of let people sending their changes to you?

I don't know why can you guys be so arrogant.

Listening to your own mistakes can help improve wikipedia. you may be contributing by creating this page, but your demerit of not listening people, would be hated by people one day.

there are really some people who are as bad as you, only blame people idiots, stupid, not contributing. finally they got eliminated one by one. you can refer to BioHazard Extreme site's rammy.

many people know him for ill-temper and arrogant, exactly same as you wiki guys. finally your ending will also be the same. your page will die.

When all people ignore or isolate your site, your page era is terminated. owes when, don't even think because wikipedia is popular so it won't die. a site with cheap admin would DIE

[edit] VandalProof 1.2 Now Available

After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! --AmiDaniel (talk) 02:57, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ext. Link Edits

I'm not sure why my post was twice removed. The story is legitimate. Five Tennessee police officers have been found guilty of federal civil rights violations, for torturing Lester Siler. An audiotape was made of the torture, which was the evidence that convicted them. These officers beat Siler, held loaded guns to his head, dunked his head in the toilet, and attached his testicles to a battery charger over the course of a two-hour torture session. I twice tried to provide a link to that audio in the subject Police Brutality. Certainly seems relevant to me. I'm an internationally published journalist, and I checked the sources. Why was it edited out? - 71.96.115.87

Thanks for your help, I'll give it a shot!

[edit] 152.53.20.168

It makes more sense to bring this up on WP:ANI rather than WP:AIV since it isn't simple vandalism. JoshuaZ 02:43, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
