User talk:NPOV

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello NPOV, thanks for your comments on Wikipedia talk:Guidelines for controversial articles. It would be very helpful if you could sign your posts; people like to know who says what. The easiest way is by entering four tildes (~~~~~); the system automatically inserts your username with a datestamp.

As you know, NPOV is the anacronym for a fundamental concept here at Wikipedia. Other users may find it confusing or inappropriate that you have taken it for your handle here, and you might be asked to consider changing it. Just warning you!

Otherwise, welcome to Wikipedia! If you need editing help, visit Wikipedia:How does one edit a page or how to format them visit our manual of style. If you need pointers on how we title pages visit Wikipedia:Naming conventions. If you have any other questions about the project, check out Wikipedia:Help, add a question to the Village pump, or leave a message on my Talk page. Enjoy, -- Viajero 18:28, 11 Dec 2003 (UTC)

[edit] User page

Could I ask you to not redirect your page to Wikipedia:NPOV? In general, cross-namespace redirects are discouraged. Further, it is especially confusing given your user name (I tend to agree with Viajero above); if one misses the redirect notice it isn't immediately apparent what has happened. — Knowledge Seeker 04:10, 12 May 2005 (UTC)

I've removed the redirect, which seems designed to give you a spurious official status. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 10:03, 15 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Username block

I have blocked you on the grounds that your username falsely suggests that you are an officially sanctioned enforcer of the NPOV policy. Please feel free to edit under a different username. Snowspinner 15:40, Jun 16, 2005 (UTC)
