Based in N. Bethesda, MD, Novamente LLC develops software to bridge the gap between "Narrow AI" and general purpose, "Strong AI."

Novamente's primary software system, the Novamente Cognition Engine, powers applications used by government agencies for biological data analysis and natural language processing. An ongoing development effort by the company aims to bring about the creation of powerfully advanced artificial general intelligence.
