Nova Sintra is a town in the central part of the island of Brava in southwestern and western Cape Verde and also serves its island capital. The town is the nineteenth largest community in Cape Verde after Sal Rei. It is named afther the Portuguese town of Sintra.
Nova Sintra is linked with roads linking to the northern, the eastern, the southcentral and the western parts of the island as well as the former airfield which used to serve as the island's airport. The panorama includes the islands north of Brava and São Filipe. The mountains cover surround Nova Sintra and are rocky and are less forested, farmlands cover the area around Nova Sintra and has the islands' most farmlands
The street system are grid. Hotels, restaurants and bars (not as much as the eastern part of Cape Verde) make up the main industry of Sal Rei and agriculture is the predominant industry, businesses are rare to find. The football/soccer team in town is Bravense.
Nova Sintra's popular fame is the statue of Eugénio Tavares, a famous Capeverdean writer which was honored as a statue in the 1950s and are surrounded by grass and is located in a garden square that includes pine trees, other trees and flowers including roses and sunflowers. The streets are mainly cobbled and paved. A tree lined divided street lies in the heart of Nova Sintra.
A part of the population have moved to mainly North America and Europe and to the other islands especially in the 1900s. The GDP for the town is between low and middle range. a part of the population live in poverty and living standards are between low and moderate.

Nova Sintra has a school or a collegiate, the island's only middle school and secondary school, churches, banks and a few squares praças.
