NOVA Cyprus is a Cypriot digital satellite pay television service owned by Multichoice Cyprus. NOVA launched in July 2004 and was the first DTH satellite provider to launch in Cyprus. It is one of two satellite platforms, the other being Athina Sat.

NOVA offers Cypriot subscribers an array of programming choices from News, Sports, Movies, Children's & Entertainment.

[edit] Dispute with LTV

In July 2006, LTV pulled their service from the NOVA lineup, due to a dispute with Multichoice over their apparent attempt to move customers receiving LTV via analogue receiver, over to NOVA's digital platform. The channel has been removed and does not appear to be coming back. It has been mentioned that LTV is in talks with Athina Sat to add the channel to their lineup. The removal of LTV from NOVA it appears will put the future of NOVA Cyprus in jeopardy as there are currently 40 000 customers who receive LTV via analogue transmission and 20 000 who receive it via the NOVA platform. It is still unknown what the exact fall out of the dispute with LTV will be for NOVA Cyprus especially now that LTV & Alfa are available through Athina Sat.

As of August 2006, Alfa TV has also been removed from the NOVA line-up due to the same dispute.
