Welcome to my user page. I was born in Bowling Green, KY, August 13, 1956, and grew up in Baltimore, MD, Louisville, KY, Lebanon, OH, Lakeside Park, KY, Erlanger, KY, and Nashville, IN.
I served in the US Army from 1974-1977. After completion of Basic Training at Ft. Jackson, SC, I trained in Soil Analysis at the US Army Engineer School at Ft. Belvoir, VA. I was permanently assigned to the 13th Engineer Co. (CS) at Ft. Knox, KY and completed my active time there. I also served as Alternate Mail Clerk, Chemical Detection Member, and Race Relations / Equal Opportunity NCO during this time. I served the Kentucky National Guard in 1980-81 as a Field Artillery Surveyor.
I attended the University of Kentucky (Ft. Knox Extension), Western Kentucky University, and Middle Tennessee State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning & Administration / Economics. I completed graduate work toward a Masters in Public Administration degree, but did not complete the program prior to its discontinuance.
I have served several local governments since 1983 as a Planner, Codes Compliance Officer, Zoning Administrator, CDBG Director, Principal Planner, Executive City Planner, GIS Director and IT Director. I hope to retire from public service in 2012 to run a family vineyard and winery in Kentucky, and do a little consulting.
