A notifies, is a small service, program that helps to keep you attached to certain events.

As an example , there are sort of notfiers offered like : Gmail Notifier(google Gmail service) Face2Love notifier( the dating site notification service)

A notifier can be a small program running on te client side than pop up a notification about any preconfigured event.
