Nottingham Tennis Centre
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nottingham Tennis Centre is Nottingham's premier tennis venue and one of the largest of its kind in the country. The award-winning centre holds a range of tournaments throughout the year, most notably the Nottingham Open, which, as a major forerunner to Wimbledon attracts some of the biggest names in world tennis.
British Number One Andrew Murray reached the 2006 quarter-final whilst Richard Gasquet of France beat Sweden's Jonas Bjorkman in the singles final to become singles champion.
The centre is also open to the general public and has no membership fees or firm dress codes. Besides tennis, there is also a gym, sauna and steam room for relaxation and houses Edge, its own pro shop.
