Nottingham High School (Syracuse)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nottingham High School is a public high school located at 3100 East Genessee Street in Syracuse, New York. It currently has an enrollment of about 1200 students in grades 9-12.
Nottingham is the "music and arts" public high school in Syracuse. It is known regionwide for its band, choirs, and theatrical productions.
Nottingham is a very effective high school; even though it is a city school the connotations that would come with that title are mostly unfounded. It offers a slew of AP and honors courses and even some courses that work with nearby schools such as Syracuse University and the NY State College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF).
Some of the students that currently attend Nottingham high school are nationally recognized. For example, Kelley Mooney (Class of 2008) received an award for having a GPA that was one of the highest in the nation. Ben Burdick (Class of 2009) received an award for performance in math classes and on special math tests that made him one of the highest scoring students of his class in the nation.
