Norwest Business Park

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Norwest Business Park is a commercial office zone in the suburb of Bella Vista, NSW in Australia. Norwest Busisness is borded by Windsor Road to the East, and Old Windsor Road to the West, with Norwest Boulevard stretching the length of the park between the two main arterial roads. lIt is growing every day with new companies moving in to serve the people of the Hills district. The complex is comprised of several office buildings, an ice-skating rink, a shopping centre and Hillsong Church.

[edit] History

The park was established in the early 2000s along with the Sydney housing boom. Farms had previously occupied the area. The park eventually grew with the population, which was expanding rapidly. The first business to be constucted was the Bella Vista Coles supermarket.

When Hillsong Church was established, business continued to boom (as well as the size of the church) and in 2005 saw the construction of the Woolworths Limited head office which now provides hundreds of jobs. several cafe's and resturants also serve the business park

Other large scale corporations in the Norwest Busisness Park with include ResMed, AMMI Insurance, Bunnings Hardware store, Fitness First gym, and The Reserve Bank Of Australia.

[edit] Transport

The North-West Rail link, due for completion in 2017 will include a train station under the Hillsong Church. As of 2006 the only form of public transport in the busisness park is by bus. In late 2005, the M7 Motorway opened up with an exit at the western end of Norwest Boulevard, this gave the busisness park greater exposure for busisnesses in Southern and Western Sydney with motorway exits at the M5 at Prestons and the M4 at Eastern Creek respectively. The M2 Hills Motorway (which connects with the M7 near Old Windsor Road) also provides travel connections to the Sydney CBD and airport. However the increase of traffic flow from the Motorways brought traffic congestion. Norwest Boulevard, Windsor and Old Windsor Roads often have traffic jams durring morning and afternoon peak times.
