Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan

Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan is a comprehensive four-year regional public high school serving students from several municipalities in Bergen County, New Jersey. The high school serves students from the suburban communities of Harrington Park, Northvale, Norwood, and Old Tappan. Students from Rockleigh attend the high school as part of a sending/receiving relationship. The school is one of two high schools that are part of the Northern Valley Regional High School District.

The high school is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and by the New Jersey Department of Education.

During the 1994-95 school year, Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan was awarded the Blue Ribbon School Award of Excellence by the United States Department of Education[1], the highest award an American school can receive.[2][3]

Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan was the 25th-ranked public high school in New Jersey out of 316 schools statewide, in New Jersey Monthly magazine's September 2006 cover story on the state's Top Public High Schools.[4]

The school administration and faculty support and encourage student participation in the variety of sports, social and academic club activities. The school offers over 23 sports, which include participation at the freshman, junior varsity, and varsity level (46 teams) in the North Bergen Interscholastic Athletic League, as well as 60 co-curricular activities.
