Northern Light Group

Northern Light Group, LLC is a company specializing in knowledge management for market research and custom enterprise search applications. Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Northern Light as a Web search engine in 1996, and was originally called the Northern Light Technology Corporation.

It is named after the clipper ship Northern Light, which held the speed record for the San Francisco to Boston voyage for nearly 150 years.

Northern Light Group bought the naming rights to the Indy Racing League automobile racing series in 2000 for five years. The series was then named the "Indy Racing League Northern Light Series". After the dot-com bubble downturn in 2001, the agreement was terminated after two years [1].
