[edit] Camps
[edit] Boho School Camp (Years 7-8)
Northcote High School acquired the Boho South Primary School site in 1979, for use as a country outdoor education camp. It is situated in the Strathbogie Ranges, approximately 200 kilometres from Melbourne. Most students spend 4 days there, doing activities such as: hiking, visiting a farm, canoeing, horse riding, swimming and bush camping.
[edit] Year 8 Camp
The Year 8 Camp is four days long, and groups of about 20 to 30 students partcipate (each class). On the first day, students usually participate in an overnight hike of about 7 km to a camping spot. The students then put up tents, and (try to) enjoy a Cup-A-Soup, 2 minute noodles or tuna for dinner. The soups and noodles are cooked by placing a billy full of water from a local stream on the campfire, and putting it in a bowl or cup. The next day, students pack up and travel back to camp. This is mostly up-hill. Students then travel by school bus to Shepparton, to go to the local pool (Aquamoves), and bowling. There is usually pizza for dinner this night. On the thrid day, students go horse riding and to the Lake Eiledon Trout Farm. On the fourth day, students pack up and go back to school in the school bus.
[edit] Year 9 Camp
The Year 9 Camp is a whole year level camp, near the start of the year. Students travel to the Mornington Pensulia and participate in activites such as a flying fox, etc. The camp was started for the first time in 2007.
[edit] Interstate and Overseas Camps
The school also offers interstate camps which have included: Tasmania, the Gold Coast, Sydney, Canberra and Central Australia. There is usually only one interstate trip per year.
Apart from this wonderful range of camps the school also offers overseas trips through language and music subjects. Countries visited are: Italy, China, Greece and New Caledonia.
