North Webster is a town in Kosciusko County, Indiana, United States. The population was 1,067 at the 2000 census.

North Webster is situated in the lakes region of Indiana. During the summer the area becomes a hot bed for tourists looking to use the nearby lakes for boating and fishing.

Inside the town of North Webster is Lake Webster.

[edit] Mermaid Festival

Hosted by the North Webster Lions Club.The clubs largest fund raiser of the year.Takes place in June. The festival operated the last full week of the month. The festival is the primary attraction for The Cutie King & Queen Pageant , and the Cutie parade. Where the Youngsters compete for scholarships. Aside from the carnival coming to town, a Festival parade takes place Saturday at 4 pm to celebrate the end of the festival. Later at night fireworks are set off to officially announce the end of the festival. After the fireworks, the carnival shuts down. For more info: www.northwebsterlions.org

There are a few antique shops and a couple of bait and tackle shops. CVS, Family Dollar, Ace Hardware and a flower shop called Sue's Creations.

There is one hotel in North Webster. Most guest stay in nearby Warsaw.

North Webster is located at 41°19′31″N, 85°41′50″W (41.325351, -85.697165)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.9 km² (0.7 mi²), all land.

Warsaw is a twenty-five minute drive south on State Road 13 and west on Old Highway 30. Syracuse is ten minutes north on State Road 13, Pierceton is ten minutes south on State Road 13, and Leesburg is ten minutes west on county roads.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 1,067 people, 446 households, and 297 families residing in the town. The population density was 572.2/km² (1,488.0/mi²). There were 612 housing units at an average density of 328.2/km² (853.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 97.84% White, 0.28% African American, 0.56% Native American, 0.09% Asian, 0.94% from other races, and 0.28% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.69% of the population.

There were 446 households out of which 27.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.9% were married couples living together, 10.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.4% were non-families. 27.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was 2.85.

In the town the population was spread out with 23.0% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 27.5% from 25 to 44, 23.3% from 45 to 64, and 18.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 90.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.1 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $39,038, and the median income for a family was $46,094. Males had a median income of $36,406 versus $22,344 for females. The per capita income for the town was $18,824. About 3.8% of families and 6.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 8.7% of those under age 18 and 8.4% of those age 65 or over.
