North Ward, is a suburb of Townsville, Australia. North Ward is home to the cities most prominent attraction, The Strand, and is the city's most cleanest suburb, as voted 10 years in a row. North Ward also is one of the city's oldest suburbs, dating as far back to the 1870's, and is home

No. 3 Fighter Sector Headquarters (3FSHQ) was established on 25 February 1942 in the Townsville Grammar School at North Ward. It was renamed to 103 Fighter Control Unit (103 FCU) on 7 March 1944.

3 Fighter Sector Headquarters is also situated at Wulguru.
