North Ronaldsay sheep

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The North Ronaldsay Sheep is a breed of sheep living on North Ronaldsay, the northernmost of the Orkney Islands, Scotland. They are notable for living on only seaweed for several months of the year. Therefore they are also called Seaweed Eating Sheep[citation needed].

Their meat is especially delicious[citation needed] and exported to the finest restaurants around the world.

Wool from the sheep is spun in Lanarkshire on the Scottish mainland and returned to Orkney for sale.
