North Pine Dam

North Pine Dam is built across the North Pine River on the northern outskirts of Brisbane, Queensland creating an artificial lake called Lake Samsonvale.
Its purpose is to provide drinking water to Redcliffe, Pine Rivers, Caboolture and the northern suburbs of Brisbane.

North Pine Dam is a mass concrete dam 580 metres long and 40 metres high. It has a central concrete spillway section on which five steel gates are installed.
The dam has a storage capacity of 215,000 m³.
The catchment area is 348 square kilometres.
