North Hackensack (NJT station)

North Hackensack is a New Jersey Transit rail station on the Pascack Valley Line. The station is one of two rail stations in River Edge, New Jersey and is located at Kinderkamack Road and Grand Street. The River Edge station is also located in River Edge.

This line runs north-south to Hoboken Terminal with connections via the Secaucus Junction transfer station to New Jersey Transit one-stop service to New York Penn Station and to other NJ Transit rail service. Connections are available at the Hoboken Terminal to other New Jersey Transit rail lines, the PATH train at the Hoboken PATH station, New York Waterways ferry service to the World Financial Center and other destinations and Hudson-Bergen Light Rail service.

The Pascack Valley Line is a single-track line providing service towards Hoboken during the morning rush hour and service from Hoboken in the evening rush hour.

Permit parking is operated by the Borough of River Edge. North Hackensack Train Station parking lot permits are issued on a lottery system basis only. Forms are available at the Borough's website or at the Police Department desk at Borough Hall. If your application is drawn at the lottery, a permit decal will be mailed to you. If your application is NOT drawn at the lottery, your check will be returned to you with a blank application form for your use at the next drawing. Effective 2006, the fees are $100 for a quarterly permit or $295 for a yearly permit.

Daily parking spaces are available at the North Hackensack Train Station parking lot and are located on the perimeter of the lot at a cost of $3.00 per day, as of 2006. These spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis, are limited and tend to fill up quickly.
