North Fork River (Missouri - Arkansas)

The North Fork River is a tributary of the White River, into which it flows near Norfork, Arkansas.
The river is also known as the North Fork of White River. It rises in Texas County, Missouri west of the city of Cabool. It flows generally southwards, through Douglas County, Missouri and Ozark County, Missouri. Passing through Mark Twain National Forest, it gathering the waters of many tributaries. South of Tecumseh, Missouri the river becomes Norfolk Lake, a reservoir created by Norfork Dam in Baxter County, Arkansas. A few miles after the dam, the North Fork River joins the White River near the town of Norfork, Arkansas. The part of the river below the Norfork Dam is called the Norfork Tailwater, and is a favorite destination for trout fishermen.
