North Epping, New South Wales
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
North Epping is a suburb in north-west Sydney, Australia, approximately 18-20km from the central business district. It is connected to the suburb Epping by the single road Norfolk Road. Population (2001): 4168.
The suburb has a primary school, North Epping Primary School, and also has a small number of shops including a community bank branch of the Bendigo Bank. North Epping is under the municipal authority of Ward C in the Hornsby Shire Council.
In 2004 a study was conducted by Bakus Mirovic of Macquarie University, who found the genetic diversity of North Epping residents to be significantly lower than the Australian average. Astonishingly it has been hypothesised that residents are reluctant to leave the area because the single narrow entrance into North Epping is difficult for large (moving) trucks to navigate.
