North Dakota Fighting Sioux hockey

The North Dakota Fighting Sioux hockey teams (men's and women's) are the only Division I sports at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The Sioux men have won seven Frozen Four NCAA Division I championships. The current men's head coach is former Sioux player Dave Hakstol and the current women's head coach is Shantel Rivard. The public address announcer for the men's hockey team is Darrin Looker and the announcer for the women's hockey team is Jon Roberts, with Max Huber and Brian Lee Rivers filling in while Roberts is recovering from surgery. On-ice intermission personalities for the men's hockey home games are Max Huber and Katie O'Keefe.

The roots of the men's team go back to 1946. The Sioux men played in the WIHL until the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) was formed in 1951.
