North Dakota Fighting Sioux football

The North Dakota Fighting Sioux are a college football program that competes in NCAA Division II and the North Central Conference. Their current head coach is Dale Lennon and their public address announcer is Brian Lee Rivers.
The Sioux and their longtime rival, the North Dakota State Bison, used to played for the Nickel Trophy. When the Bison moved to Division I-AA after 2003, the rivaly was discontiuned.
On June 21, 2006, the University of North Dakota announced that it would be moving its entire athletic program to Division I. The football team will compete in Division I-AA.
