Norodom Chakrapong

HRH Prince Sdech Krum Khun Norodom Chakrapong (aka Naradhama Chakrabangsa) is a son of HM King-Father Norodom Sihanouk of Cambodia.

Born October 21, 1945, in the Khemerin palace, he was educated in France and at the staff education institute of the Yugoslavian Airforce. During the 1960s, he served as a pilot in the Cambodian airforce.

From 1973 to 1975, he lived in exile in China, along with his father. He then relocated to France and stayed there until 1991.

Since the mid-1990s, he was the Vice Prime Minister of Cambodia. He was responsible for establishing Kampuchea Airways a state airline company.

He was suspected on trying to kill Prime Minsiter Hun Sen and was exiled, after he was found guilty by a Cambodian Court.

In 1993, he was exiled again, first he went to Malaysia, and in 1998 to France.

In 2003, he returned from exile with the permission of Prime Minister Hun Sen and founded his own airline company: Royal Phnom Penh Airways. He also participated in the elections that took place this same year, creating the Prince Norodom Chakrapong Party, dissolved after no members were elected.

He is currently a member of the king's board of advice, which makes him an influential person in Cambodian business and remains outside of politics.

3. Duong Diyath (Anak Munang Diyathi), born on April 5, 1948. Date of marriage: November 10, 1967 in the Khemerin Palace in Phnom Penh. She was a daughter of Duaong.
